About Our Brand Fonts
After doing some in depth research on various fonts and creating different legibility tests. The two fonts that scored the best where Poppins and Nunito. These sans serif fonts are both part of the Google font catalog of open-source fonts and icons. Therefore making it easy to integrate across various web platforms. Both these fonts are easily accessible for both print and web, both score high in legibility tests, and offer a modern, clean and professional aesthetic Athennian is striving for. For these reasons they are our main brand fonts and our fall back font is Arial. Arial would only be used in the case neither of these fonts are available, specifically in older outdated web browsers.
Headline Font
Poppins
Poppins is a Geometric sans serif typeface. Each letter-form is nearly monolinear, with optical corrections applied to stroke joints where necessary to maintain an even typographic color. Geometric sans serif typefaces have been a popular design element ever since these actors took to the world’s stage. Poppins is one of the newest comer to this long tradition. An open source family supporting both Devanagari and Latin, this typeface is an internationalist take on the geometric sans genre. Many of the Latin glyphs — the ampersand, for instance— are far more constructed and rationalist than in previously released geometric typefaces. Poppins’s Devanagari design is particularly new. It is likely the first-ever large Devanagari family in this style that has been brought to market. This font is a modern spin on traditional sans serif typefaces.

Nunito
Nunito is a smart, stylish and readable font that can be used to create an elegant sans-serif heading. It is a well balanced Sans Serif with rounded terminals. Nunito has been designed mainly to be used as a display font but is usable as a text font too. Nunito has been designed to be used freely across the internet by web browsers on desktop computers, laptops and mobile devices. The fonts main features are both professional and playful.
